Categories: Medications

These medications are selective inhibitors of the Angiotensin II Receptor. In this way they regulate salt, water and blood pressure in the body. They are used for blood pressure control, but in general are weak antihypertensives and require the use of additional medications to be effective. Also, they are used in the management of heart failure. Examples include Losartan and Valsartan.
